Characterization and genetic diversity of Coffea canephora accessions in a germplasm bank in Espírito Santo, Brazil

The state of Espírito Santo is the major producer Coffea canephora in Brazil. Knowledge genetic reserves fundamental to plant breeding. Therefore, present study characterized and analyzed diversity 600 C. accessions from germplasm bank Incaper based on 38 traits evaluated 24-30-month-old plants. Further, predominant descriptors or were identified, high phenotypic variability was determined. Genetic distances for grouped (Gower), quantitative, qualitative datasets 0.48, 0.61, 0.92, respectively, with 76 (Conilon) 407 (Robusta) being most divergent ones at Incaper. In clustering using Tocher optimization method, 30 groups formed, three introduced Epamig’s Robusta collection dissimilar ones. Graphical dispersion analysis principal coordinate method revealed predominance formed by Robusta, Conilon, hybrid × Conilon genotypes.
